I have a friend that works in a large office. He can convert a PDF file into word with the program the company has. Rather than me having to pay. Because it is only two or three times a year I need to Add Test to a PDF he said I could e-mail the PDF to him and he would send it back as a Word Document. That is what I have decided to do.
I am pretty sure that i have already update my edge and windows to the newest version. But i cannot find the "add text" button in my pdf editor of edge. I've also tried the Can&dev&beta version and also my windows 11 laptop, but i still cannot find it. I really need that due to my daily work. But I saw that most of my friend can use it.

But the edit is indeed there since I can open the PDF file in another editor like Foxit PDF Editor online and can see the Chinese text I had entered previously in Edge (but where Edge was not showing or displaying the font chars for some strange reason).
If that is happening on only one PDF file, open the PDF and select File - Print, then set the Microsoft Print to PDF as the printer and save that as a new PDF file, can you then edit the new version of that file? No I still cannot edit the pdf, The same pdf is being opened and highlighted in another laptop, but this is not working in mine.
By using PDF standard, documents can be viewed consistently on different devices, which is just the reason Adobe created this file extension. If you just need to make minor modifications to a PDF, using a PDF editor would be fine. Adobe Acrobat is a powerful PDF editor with all the features that a PDF file can do.
I reproduced the scenario you described: Open a local PDF file with Microsoft Edge browser and click "Add text" to add text in different languages (English, Chinese), but after confirming, the Chinese characters would disappear. We confirmed this to the Bing Team: PDF viewer supports a few languages right now when adding text.
