The Iowa Hawkeyes track and field team is the track and field program that represents University of Iowa. The Hawkeyes compete in NCAA Division I as a member of the Big Ten Conference. The team is based in Iowa City, Iowa at the Francis X. Cretzmeyer Track. [2] The program is coached by Joey Woody. [3]
Cretzmeyer retired from University of Iowa coaching in 1977, having been declared Hawkeye men's "Coach of the Year" twice in his career. He was a member of the Iowa Track Coaches Association, and in 1978, served as president of the United States Track Coaches Association. Cretzmeyer died on April 2, 2001, in Iowa City, at the age of 88.
