California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB or Cal State Monterey Bay) is a public university located in Monterey County, California, United States.The main campus is situated on the site of the former military base Fort Ord, spanning the cities of Seaside and Marina, approximately one mile inland from Monterey Bay along the Central Coast of California.
Millennium Hall (North and South) holds apartments and suites for juniors, seniors, and graduate students. Nugent Hall is the office and private residence of the University President. O'Boyle Hall contains the Counseling Center and offices of the Departments of Education and Psychology. Opus Hall is a 7-story residence hall. [2]
The residence is one of three all-female residence halls on campus. The hall contains a laundry room, two lounges, front desk, and multiple kitchenettes . It shares resources with its next-door sister hall Helen Newberry House , which contains the exercise/dance room, kitchen, and computing site.
The area that is now Canterbury was settled by English colonists around the turn of the 18th century, and was incorporated out of Plainfield in 1703. The town green was established on 3.5 acres (1.4 ha) of land purchased from Robert Green in 1705, for the purpose of erecting a meeting house, although a meeting house was not constructed until 1711.
It has a triangular shape and is surrounded by several houses, a church and the town hall. The other streets bounding the green are Bound Line Road and Kenea Avenue. [2] The Greek Revival style Congregational Church is the dominant structure on the north side of the green. On the opposite end of the green from the church is the Wolcott Town Hall.
