MS Marella Dream was a cruise ship built in 1986 at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, West Germany as Homeric for Home Lines, and their last newbuild to remain in active service. In 1988 she was sold to Holland America Line , renamed Westerdam , and in 1990 lengthened by 36.9 m (121 ft 1 in) at Meyer Werft.
In May 2009, she was transferred to the fleet of TUI Cruises, a joint venture between TUI AG and Celebrity Cruises' owner Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. [6] She was renamed Mein Schiff (English: My Ship) on 15 May 2009, [1] [7] Mein Schiff 1 in November 2010, and Marella Explorer in 2018.

She was built in 1984 by Chantiers de l'Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire, France for Holland America Line (HAL) as MS Noordam.
