The Steel Valley School District is a small, suburban public school district in the state of Pennsylvania. It is located to the southeast of the city of Pittsburgh. It serves the boroughs of Homestead, Munhall, and West Homestead, former mill towns. The Steel Valley School District encompasses approximately four square miles.
The school was opened in 1939 under the name Cellarhead County Modern School. [1] Previously a community school administered by Staffordshire County Council, in April 2021 Moorside High School converted to academy status. The school is now sponsored by the Potteries Educational Trust. [2]

It was established in 1948 and serves an area of 48 square miles (120 km 2 ), including Marshall Township , McCandless Township , and the boroughs of Bradford Woods and Franklin Park .
