@Basilhs007 Try running Origin as an administrator first: right-click on the shortcut and select "Run as administrator." Then click Play within Origin. If that doesn't help, run Origin ad an admin, then run Sims 4 as an admin as well, from its desktop shortcut.
Then go in C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin -delete this Origin folder Now you have to go to your recycle bin and clean so there will no longer Origin exist as a file. Now delete temp files.

Make it a local account, as in, don't sign into Microsoft, and don't sync with any other services you normally use. You'll be able to sign into the EA App and launch your games, but your save data, for Sims 4 at least, won't be available. That can be addressed later, but this is just for testing. I started to install sims 4 at 9/9:30 last night. Its now 2:44 the next day and its on 59%. My pc is new, first game downloades enough ram and planty of storage, full WiFi strength.
I bought the disc for the Sims 4 and downloaded it just fine. After the download when I started to update the game it says "verifying game files," anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour, then a message pops us that says, "donwload error, origin tried more than once to download your game but was unable to, please relaunch origin and try again."
Close Origin and move the Sims 4 folder in Origin Games elsewhere on your computer. Open Origin, click the Download button, and when it starts, pause it. Then move the contents of the Sims 4 folder you moved to the new Sims 4 folder in Origin Games.
Download the Origin client on origin.com. Then install and log in with the account details you used to first install the game with. In the client you will see the 'my games' tab and your The Sims 4 will probably be waiting over there for you.-----
@JadeClarity There's no way to view the product codes for your Sims 4 packs in Origin. And even if you knew what the codes were, entering them into Steam wouldn't have any effect. As said above, if you want to play Sims 4 through Steam, you need to buy a copy of the base game in Steam. Once you do that, you'll need to uninstall the Origin ...
@qnz1bvvqioef Open your Origin game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, select Game Properties, then Advanced Launch Options, and choose the 32-bit Legacy Edition from the dropdown menu. I don't work for EA.
