Pandas (styled as pandas) is a software library written for the Python programming language for data manipulation and analysis. In particular, it offers data structures and operations for manipulating numerical tables and time series. It is free software released under the three-clause BSD license. [2]
McKinney made the pandas project public in 2009. [6] McKinney left AQR in 2010 to start a PhD in Statistics at Duke University. He went on leave from Duke in the summer of 2011 to devote more time to developing Pandas, [6] culminating in the writing of Python for Data Analysis in 2012.
