Frye Island is approximately 1.5 miles (2.4 km) wide (at the widest point) and 2.5 miles (4.0 km) long. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.60 square miles (4.14 km 2), of which 1.34 square miles (3.47 km 2) is land and 0.26 square miles (0.67 km 2) is water.
