Peters Township High School is a public high school that is located in McMurray, Pennsylvania, United States. The current building was built in 2021. This new building was constructed just up the road from the old school, and was constructed at a cost of $83,175,452. [3] The new building opened to students on January 19, 2021. [4]
Peters Township School District had a population of 17,566, according to the 2000 federal census. By 2010, the district's population increased to 21,219 people. [ 1 ] The educational attainment levels for the School District population (25 years old and over) were 95.9% high school graduates and 56.1% college graduates. [ 2 ]
The Peters Township School District has two elementary schools (Bower Hill Elementary School and Pleasant Valley Elementary School) that educate students in grades K-3. These elementary schools are split for the individual communities (McMurray and Venetia for Pleasant Valley and Bower Hill respectively).

Within PIAA, WPIAL has been designated as District 7, and since 1982, WPIAL/District 7. Although officially known as District 7, the WPIAL is grandfathered to keep the older name due to it predating the PIAA. [3] Originally numbering three high schools, WPIAL had a high of 156 participating school as late as the 1981–82 school year.
