In 2020 the mummy of Takabuti was tested for mitochondrial DNA. Takabuti was a noblewoman from Thebes in Upper Egypt who lived during the 25th Dynasty , c. 660 BC. Analysis of her DNA revealed that she belonged to the mtDNA haplogroup H4a1. [ 35 ]
