Importing radio equipment and parts was a very forward-looking enterprise for Lux. Lux Corporation later decided that, in order to compete effectively as a supplier, it had to not only sell equipment but manufacture parts in-house to reduce the costs of importing, beginning the creation of the Luxman brand.
In the years that followed, the company grew and began making the entire clock unit. Lux Clock produced clocks until 1941, at which time they made war related products. Clock production resumed after the war, and in 1954 a plant was established in Lebanon, Tennessee. By 1959 a Lux Time Ltd. facility was built in Ontario, Canada.

Lux Radio Theatre was an American radio show that ran on the NBC Blue Network (1934–35), the CBS Radio network (Columbia Broadcasting System) (1935–54), and NBC Radio (1954–55). Every week they broadcast an hour-long adaptation of a popular film or Broadway play , often starring members of the original cast.
