Collingwood is the largest secondary school in Surrey, [6] with over 2,000 students, including more than 400 in the sixth form. It occupies a 30-acre (120,000 m 2) campus and is divided in the three main areas: 'Kingston' (Years 10 & 11), 'Barossa' (Years 7–9), and the sixth form centre.

Collingwood College was formed in 1971 from the merger of Camberley Grammar School, Barossa Secondary School and Bagshot Secondary School. It became a self-governing Technology College in September 1994 and gained Foundation status in September 1999. [85] The current Cordwalles School was founded in 1962 and was officially opened on 5 March 1963.
