The International Cricket Council player rankings is a widely followed system of rankings for international cricketers based on their recent performances. The current sponsor is MRF Tyres who signed a 4-year deal with the ICC that will last until 2020. [1] The ratings were developed at the suggestion of Ted Dexter in 1987. [2]

Since 2018, matches played by Associate and Affiliate members as part of the Asia Cup or the ICC World Cup are also considered as ODIs. In women's cricket matches played between the top 10 ranked teams – as announced by ICC – are given ODI status, as are matches played as a part of the ICC Women's World Cup or ICC Women's Championship.
A qualification of 15 overall centuries is used for entry onto the men's list. To date, 127 cricketers have scored 15 or more international centuries, 83 of whom went on to score 20 or more centuries, 44 have scored 30 or more centuries, and 21 have a total of 40 or more centuries.

Following the success of the list for Test cricket, the Wisden 100 list for ODI cricket was released on 1 February 2002. The top-rated batting performance was Viv Richards ' 189* for West Indies against England at Manchester in 1984. 7 of Richards' innings appeared in the top 100, more than any other batsman.
