This is a list of airlines operating in El Salvador. Taca Airlines was the major airline and flag carrier of El Salvador. In 2013 Taca Airlines merged with Colombian flag carrier Avianca. Comalapa International Airport is still one of Avianca's hubs, connecting North America, South America, the Caribbean and parts of Europe like Spain. [1] [2]
As of today 9/25, TACA has unveiled their new look, and have reverted back to using only TACA, as it was in the past; TACA International (of El Salvador). The acquisition of the other central american airlines by the Salvadoran firm produced the temporary name Grupo TACA while the unification was ironed out.
