The Honda S2000 is a front-mid engine open top sports car that was manufactured by Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda, from 1999 until 2009. First shown as a concept car called the SSM at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1995, the production version was launched on April 15, 1999, to celebrate the company's 50th anniversary.
Like the V-6 rod bolts, those of the 4-cylinder engine are torqued to the plastic region of the bolt material in order to ensure a solid union between the bearing cap and the connecting rod. The engine block incorporates the Honda-designed second-order balance system that cancels the inertial forces common to large-displacement 4-cylinder engines.
Notes: JDM import with Mazdaspeed body kit, aftermarket spoiler of unknown origin, Pivot water temperature gauge and A'PEXi turbo timer. Engine was rebuilt by original owner roughly 10,000 miles prior to sale. Restored car taken to Anglesey Circuit for track testing with a local Mazda Wankel club. Sold back to original seller.
