Epilepsy is a group of non-communicable neurological disorders characterized by recurrent epileptic seizures. [10] An epileptic seizure is the clinical manifestation of an abnormal, excessive, and synchronized electrical discharge in the neurons. [1]
Symptoms will vary according to where the seizure occurs. When seizures occur in the frontal lobe, the patient may experience a wave-like sensation in the head. When seizures occur in the temporal lobe, a feeling of déjà vu may be experienced. When seizures are localized to the parietal lobe, a numbness or tingling may occur.
An ictal headache [1] itself may or may not be an epileptic manifestation. In the first case, it is defined as ictal epileptic headache [2] or simply epileptic headache. [3] It is a type of pain seizure that can remain isolated or be followed by other manifestations of the seizure. [3]
