Berlin International Green Week (German: Internationale Grüne Woche Berlin), also called simply Green Week, is an important international trade fair held annually in Berlin, Germany, for processors and marketers in agriculture, horticulture and various food industries.
The Fair was established by Governor Fred Green – a former Ionia mayor – as well as his partner Fred Chapman in 1915. [2] [3] The fair started as a way to offer something different and spectacular to people nearby, with the notable feature of free admission that still exists to this day. [3]
The new multi-purpose exhibition area, called Berlin ExpoCenter Airport adjacent to the Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) was finished in time for ILA 2012. The main section of the grounds cover approximately 250,000 square metres. The site is situated 18 km (11 mi) southeast of Germany's capital city Berlin.
