    This is gravely problematic on multiple levels, the main ones being the erosion of confidence and negative impact on forming expectations. Between the US financial institutions exporting sub-prime products and CFIUS lurking along the coast line, foreign confidence in assisting the US financially (and politically I may add) is just not there.
