Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in India is an undergraduate academic degree conferred after the completion of a four-year full-time engineering program from All India Council for Technical Education recognised institute.
The test is taken after the 12th grade for admission to Undergraduate Courses which is called as Bachelor's degree. The exam can be taken by those who studied physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English in the 10+2 level as these subjects are tested in the examination.
After receiving the licenciatura, students may take extra courses called diplomados (similar to a certification but issued by a university). These courses last 4–12 months and are a means to further study without continuing to the next degree level, and are usually to demonstrate that students are staying up-to-date in their fields.
Training periods range from six months to two years in over 130 different specialties. Prerequisites for the courses range from 8th to 12th class pass. Upon completion of the training, trainees write the All India Trade Test (AITT). Successful candidates receive the National Trade diploma (NTD). [5]
