Anthrax is an American thrash metal band from New York City, formed in 1981 by rhythm guitarist Scott Ian and bassist Dan Lilker.The group is considered one of the leaders of the thrash metal scene from the 1980s and is part of the "Big Four" of the genre, along with Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer.
The band eventually settled in 1983 with a lineup including Ian and Lilker, lead vocalist Neil Turbin (who joined in August 1982), [3] drummer Charlie Benante and lead guitarist Dan Spitz. [ 4 ] After signing with Jon Zazula 's new thrash metal label Megaforce Records later in the year, Anthrax recorded its debut album Fistful of Metal . [ 4 ]

Scott Ian (born Scott Ian Rosenfeld, [1] December 31, 1963) is an American musician, best known as the rhythm guitarist, lyricist and co-founder of the thrash metal band Anthrax, of which he is the sole continuous member.
I'm the Man is the second EP by American metal band Anthrax, released in 1987 by Megaforce Worldwide/Island Records (although the song was supposedly written three years before). [4] The band, along with Eddie Kramer and Paul Hammingson, produced the EP, which includes the single "I'm the Man".
Anthrax members described the album as their major breakthrough, as it marked the progression from the band playing in small clubs to arenas and stadiums.
