A database of Vinča inscriptions, DatDas, has been developed by Marco Merlini: DatDas organizes a catalogue of 5,421 actual signs. These are recorded from a corpus of 1,178 inscriptions composed of two or more signs and 971 inscribed artifacts (some finds have two or more inscriptions).

In 1920 an Archaeological Institute headed by Bogdan Filov was established as an independent institution. Varna necropolis, grave offerings on exhibit at the Varna Museum. The site was accidentally discovered in October 1972 by excavator operator Raycho Marinov. The first person to value the significant historical meaning was Dimitar Zlatarski, the creator of the Dalgopol Historical Museum, when he was called by the locals to examine what they had found earlier that day.
