The Private Security Authority (PSA) Irish: An tÚdarás Slándála Prı́obháidı́ is the independent statutory body in Ireland that regulates private security services. It was established under the Private Security Services Act 2004.
In the Republic of Ireland all potential doormen (bouncers) must complete a QQI level 4 course in Door Security Procedures. This allows them to apply for a PSA license (Private Security Authority). The PSA vet all applicants before issuing a license. Some past convictions will disqualify an applicant from working in the security industry.
