SCC is the nation's only public community college on tribal land. The college also hosts NAU-Scottsdale, which offers several undergraduate programs, as well as the SCC2NAU program. SCC2NAU is a joint admission program between Scottsdale Community College and Northern Arizona University.
It became part of SCC in 1973. Most programs on the campus are career-technical in nature, although Academic Transfer and Business programs also are offered. On-campus residence halls help students receive a broader college-life experience in Milford. SCC also offers several programs that can be completed entirely online.

SCC's campus of 23 administrative, academic and support buildings is located on 148 acres (0.60 km 2) next to the Spokane River in Spokane's Chief Garry Park neighborhood. An additional 10 acres (40,000 m 2) is used for off-campus facilities, including an Apprenticeship and Journeyman Training Center and Felts Field aviation hangar.
In 2012–13, the community colleges' Institute for Extended Learning merged with SCC, expanding its program offerings to include Adult Basic Education, GED, ESL, and High School Completion. In addition, SCC has a center for workforce training and continuing education, and a program offering education classes for adults age 50 and older.
