The Proton GEN•2 (often simplified as Gen-2 or GEN2) is a compact 5-door liftback manufactured by Malaysian automobile manufacturer Proton which launched in 2004. [2] It was initially codenamed Wira Replacement Model (WRM) .

On 10 March 2008, Proton Cars UK announced the new addition of the Proton Persona saloon to the British market, which is known as the Proton GEN•2 Persona, [11] while the Personas sold in other countries (such as Singapore and Australia) retain the name Persona.
