The race-winning No. 50 Ferrari 499P. The 92nd 24 Hours of Le Mans (French: 92 e 24 Heures du Mans) was an automobile endurance race for teams of three drivers each racing Le Mans Prototypes (LMP) and Le Mans Grand Touring Car (LMGT3) cars held from 15 to 16 June 2024 at the Circuit de la Sarthe, near Le Mans, France.
The series was open to Hypercars (built under Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) or Le Mans Daytona h (LMDh) regulations) and, for the first time, LMGT3 racing cars. This is the first season of the World Endurance Championship without the LMP2 class, after it was dropped due to the increasing demand in the Hypercar and LMGT3 classes.
The pre-event entry list was released on 26 June 2024 and consisted of 43 entries between 4 categories - 14 in LMP2, 8 in LMP2 Pro/Am, 10 in LMP3 and 11 in LMGT3. [1] [2] Paul-Loup Chatin replaced Ritomo Miyata in the No. 37 COOL Racing. Miyata could not compete in this round due to his FIA F2 commitments.
LMDh (Le Mans Daytona h) [1] is a sports prototype category that competes alongside Le Mans Hypercar entries in the Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) class of the IMSA SportsCar Championship from 2023. [2] It also competes in the Hypercar class in the FIA World Endurance Championship. [3]
