Bernard Noël (19 November 1930 – 13 April 2021) [1] was a French writer and poet. He received the Grand Prix national de la poésie (National Grand Prize of Poetry) in 1992, the Prix Robert Ganzo (Robert Ganzo Prize) in 2010, [2] as well as the Grand prix de poésie from the Académie Française for his entire poetic work in 2016.
His very numerous works were in large part compilations of his views on university education. André Noël, born in Périgueux in 1726 and died in Berlin on May 4, 1801, was a French chef in the service of King Frederick II of Prussia.He created famous dishes for the royal table, such as a "bombe de Sardanapale", but is also credited with making a pheasant pâté that La Mettrie is said to have enjoyed to the point of dying of indigestion.
His family originally came from Lorraine.Some sources say that he was born there in 1810. His father was a draftsman working on the canal being built from Nantes to Brest and gave him his first drawing lessons. [1]
