Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences (AJUMS) is a medical school in Khuzestan Province of Iran.. Located in southwestern Iran in the city of Ahvaz, the university was established as a College of Medicine administered by the Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz in 1955, which itself was a revived reincarnation of the Academy of Gundishapur that existed in the same area in antiquity.
The Academy of Gondishapur or "'Academy of Jondishapur"'(Persian: فرهنگستان گندیشاپور, Farhangestân-e Gondišâpur), also known as the Gondishapur University, was one of the three Sasanian centers of education (Ctesiphon, Ras al-Ayn, Gundeshapur) [1] and academy of learning in the city of Gundeshapur, Iran during late antiquity, the intellectual center of the Sasanian Empire.
Ahvaz railway station (Persian: ايستگاه راه آهن اهواز, Istgah-e Rah Ahan-e Ahvaz) is located in Ahvaz, Khuzestan Province. Ahvaz is accessible via freeways from Isfahan and Shiraz, and roadways to Tehran. A metro urban railway system is being built by the Ahvaz urban railway. The system is planned to have a total of four lines.

SCU University is considered one of Iran's "Grade A" universities by Iranian Ministry of Science. The campus today has 276 acres (1.12 km 2) and houses 13 colleges. In 2010, 4798 students were enrolled. [3] In 1982 the university was renamed to "Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz" to commemorate Mostafa Chamran.
