Wyoming County is a county in the U.S. state of West Virginia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 21,382. [1] Its county seat is Pineville. [2] The county was created in 1850 from Logan County and named for the Lenape word meaning "large plains". [3]

Wyco is an unincorporated community in Wyoming County, West Virginia, United States. Some say the community derives its name from Wyoming County, [2] while others believe the community was named for the Wyoming Coal Company. [3] It is located off West Virginia Route 16.
