The Forge Road Historic District is a historic district on Forge Road from Ives Road to the Potowomut River in Warwick, Rhode Island.Most of the district's nearly 200 acres (81 ha) are taken up by the Forge Farm, which lies south of Forge Road, is one of the oldest farms in Rhode Island (dating to the mid-17th century), and was the birthplace of American Revolutionary War general Nathanael Greene.
Here, his son, James, built a dam and a mill, later; his descendants established an anchor forge, now located at the foot of Old Forge Road. The Greene family mainly used the land to raise cattle and harvest hay, which was then shipped across Greenwich Bay to the wharf in Apponaug, Rhode Island .
The Kampong is open by advance reservation to visitors Tuesday through Friday and is a 9 acres (3.6 ha) botanical garden in the Coconut Grove neighborhood of Miami, Florida, United States. It is one of the five gardens of the non-profit National Tropical Botanical Garden (NTBG). An admission fee is charged.
Ganienkeh (meaning Land of the Flint in Mohawk) is a Mohawk community located on about 600 acres (2.4 km 2) near Altona, New York in the far northeast corner of the North Country. The Red Bank Farm Center supported a community baseball team in the 1920s. [19] The Red Bank 4-H Club restored the Red Bank Cemetery in 1977, including installing a "new archway" that was donated for the "old site". [20] The inactive Red Bank Cemetery is located on Red Bank Road and has six known burials, dating from the 1910s to the 1930s. [21]
A coconut palm was reported to be in an outdoor courtyard in La Quinta, being tall enough to be able to be seen from the street. It was transported from Hawaii.
