The Education Authority (Irish: Údarás Oideachais) is a non-departmental body sponsored by the Department of Education in Northern Ireland. It was established under the Education Act (Northern Ireland) 2014 (c. 12) [1] which was passed by the Northern Ireland Assembly. The authority became operational on 1 April 2015. [2]
C2K (formerly known as Classroom 2000) is a Northern Ireland-wide information and communications network operated on behalf of the Education Authority in the province. [1] [2] After the separation of the education and library boards the C2k project has been overseen by the Education Authority Northern Ireland.
The Education Act 2014, [13] which created the Education Authority in the following year, was accompanied by a commitment by the Education Minister and the Northern Ireland Executive to establish and fund a support body for schools in the controlled sector.

South Eastern Regional College (SERC) is a further and higher education college in the south-east of Northern Ireland. SERC was created following the merger of three institutes of further and higher education in the south-east of Northern Ireland. These were East Down Institute, Lisburn Institute and North Down and Ards Institute.
