Kirk Lewis Talley (born June 9, 1958), is an American Southern gospel performer and songwriter. Talley is best known for his time as a tenor singer with the legendary Gospel Quartet the Cathedrals , the Talleys, and also the family group the Hoppers , along with a very successful solo career as a singer and songwriter.

In 1984, Kirk wanted to start a new group with Roger and Debra prompting them to form The Talleys. In 1993, the group disbanded and Kirk started a solo career. But by the mid 1990s, Lauren's interest and talent in singing could not be ignored, prompting her mother and father to join with her in the formation of the Talley Trio in 1996. [ 1 ]
As the Box Tops, they entered the studio under the guidance of producer Dan Penn to record Wayne Carson Thompson's song "The Letter".Though under two minutes in length, the record was an international hit by September 1967, reaching the Hot 100's number-one position for four weeks, selling over four million copies, earning a gold disc, and receiving two Grammy Award nominations. These songs, especially the old-style gospel numbers, on which they sing harmony with Belinda Lee Leslie, have been made into CDs, and a portion of the proceedings go to the Wounded Warrior Project in honor of Gary's late father, Charles Talley. In 2022, at the age of 95, with three CDs available, Nita Talley was still recording with Gary Talley.
Occasionally, he would sing with tenor Kirk Talley, and pianist/baritone Anthony Burger in a group they called simply The Trio. From 2001 to 2004 and 2006 to 2016, The Singing News named him Favorite Soloist. In 2007 and 2008, he was voted Male Vocalist of the Year in the Singing News Fan Awards.
