Toadtown (formerly, Allentown) is an unincorporated community in Butte County, California. It lies at an elevation of 2782 feet (848 m). A sawmill was established near Toadtown, on Little Butte Creek, in 1859. A major underground gold mine at the site began a few years later, and had a ball mill for crushing hard gold-bearing rock. [2]
Held in a different city each year, it consists of railfan and model railroading products, and model train layouts created by clubs. In 2005, it occupied about 300,000 square feet (28,000 m 2 ) of display space and had about 20,000 visitors.
