Kenton is a city in and the county seat of Hardin County, Ohio, United States, [5] located in the west-central part of Ohio about 57 mi (92 km) northwest of Columbus and 70 mi (113 km) south of Toledo.
Much of central Scioto Township is occupied by the city of Chillicothe, the county seat of Ross County, while some of the area that remains is occupied by the census-designated place of North Fork Village.
The towns combined when the Village was incorporated in on March 21, 1851, with Genoa being the western half and Rome being the eastern. In 1872, the town changed its name to Commercial Point, which was suggested by Eli Harsh. [4] The township is named after the Scioto River and it is one of five Scioto Townships statewide. [5]
