Macross Plus (マクロスプラス, Makurosu Purasu) is a four-episode anime OVA and theatrical movie in the Macross series. It was the first sequel to the original Macross television series that took place in the official timeline (Macross II was quickly retconned by series creator Shōji Kawamori as a parallel world story in the Macross universe).
In the movie version, Isamu is last seen standing with Myung on the platform of the Macross, and she promptly sings "Voices", as he puts an arm around her shoulder, winning her at last. Isamu also made a brief cameo appearance in Macross Frontier : The Wings of Goodbye as a member of S.M.S. fighting against the Vajra.
Macross Plus Original Soundtrack Plus - for fans only features instrumentals and alternate versions of vocals not featured in the first two original soundtracks. It also includes music from Macross Plus: Movie Edition , the theatrical version of Macross Plus , which was released on August 27, 1995.
The film begins in medias res with the space fortress SDF-1 Macross trying to evade the Zentradi at the edge of the Solar System. The Macross houses an entire city with tens of thousands of civilians who are cut off from Earth, after it had executed a space fold on the first day of the Earth/Zentradi war - taking the city section of South Ataria Island with it.
