Chester Arthur Burnett (June 10, 1910 – January 10, 1976), better known by his stage name Howlin' Wolf, was an American blues singer, guitarist and harmonica player. He was at the forefront of transforming acoustic Delta blues into electric Chicago blues, and over a four-decade career, recorded blues, rhythm and blues, rock and roll, and psychedelic rock.
In 1967, he re-recorded several blues standards with Bo Diddley, Little Walter, and Howlin' Wolf, which were marketed as Super Blues and The Super Super Blues Band albums in Chess' attempt to reach a rock audience. [38] The Super Super Blues Band united Howlin' Wolf and Muddy Waters, who had a long-standing rivalry. [26]

The Howlin' Wolf Album is a studio album by Howlin' Wolf, released in 1969. It features members of Rotary Connection as his backing band. [1] The album mixed blues with psychedelic rock arrangements of several of Wolf's classic songs. Howlin' Wolf strongly disliked the album, which is noted on the album's cover art.
Howlin' Wolf recorded "Killing Floor" in Chicago in August 1964, which Chess Records released as a single. He is best known as the principal guitarist in Howlin' Wolf's band from 1948 to 1953. [2] His raucous, distorted guitar playing is prominent on Howlin' Wolf's Memphis recordings during 1951–1953, including the hit song "How Many More Years" (recorded May 1951). [3] In 2017, Johnson was posthumously inducted in to the Blues Hall of Fame. [4]
