In July 2023, the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center announced its intention to acquire both St. Mary's Medical Center and Saint Francis Memorial Hospital from Dignity Health. [1] It will cease being a Catholic hospital once the acquisition in completed in Spring 2024. [2]
