DeWitt County is a county located in the U.S. state of Illinois. As of the 2020 census, the population was 15,516. [1] Its county seat is Clinton. [2] The county was formed on March 1, 1839, from Macon and McLean counties. The county was named in honor of the seventh Governor of New York State, DeWitt Clinton. [3]
DeWitt Township is one of thirteen townships in DeWitt County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2020 census, its population was 428 and it contained 207 housing units. [ 2 ] It was renamed from its original name of Marion Township on June 7, 1859.
As of the 2020 census [2] there were 122 people, 42 households, and 42 families residing in the township. The population density was 5.01 inhabitants per square mile (1.93/km 2).

[2] The last settled township in DeWitt County was Nixon. The first settlement began in 1850 and the first to locate in this township was Cicero Twist in the spring of 1850.
