It did not occur to me to look in the Windows folders. I'm using Windows 10 and Windows.Old/User folder C:\Windows.old do not appear, nor does appdata!! However, since you kindly directed me to this location I decided to take a look in each of the folders in C\Windows and hey presto!! there they were, in the ASUS folder !!
After updating to windows 11 the right click copy, cut and paste features are embedded within further pull down menus called show more options. My question is, "How do I make these options front and center again without the extra steps?" I already know about and use ctrl x, c and v. However, this is not always the most convenient thing for me.

I never had problems with Win10 before, but today suddenly I just can't delete/copy/cut/paste files on the File Explorer. I can delete/copy/paste/cut text on Google Chrome for example, but the problem seems to remain only on the File Explorer with both text and files. I have a strange problem. I am unable to cut and paste (using mouse or keyboard) and cannot drag and drop files on my Windows 10 PC. This is a relatively recent problem and I am not aware of any virus, new software, etc. being installed. If I connect my portable via Homegroup to the desktop PC I can cut and paste successfully.
Until a Windows 10 expert comes along to ask the right questions and point you in the right direction, try using the keyboard shortcuts for copy, cut and paste: select what you want to copy, then press Ctrl-C. Click where you want to paste and press Ctrl-V. Cut is Ctrl-X. These are universal shortcuts that work in most Windows programs.
That said, let me add the following: most of us don't need such a toolbar, because of the Windows keyboard standard--Ctrl-C is copy, Ctrl-X is cut, and Ctrl-V is paste. The keyboard shortcuts are very easy to remember, are very easy to use, and work in most (but not all) programs.

Under Windows 10 (as well as Windows 7), I was copying the WINDOWS folder on my C: hard drive to a (brand-new - but old one acts the same) WD Backup drive. After doing the PASTE, it took hours to complete, with very little activity from me. I noticed that occasionally, it was very sluggish in responding to my other activities.
