The National Scout jamboree is a gathering, or jamboree, of thousands of members of the Boy Scouts of America, usually held every four years and organized by the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Referred to as "the Jamboree", "Jambo", or NSJ, Scouts from all over the nation and world have the opportunity to attend.
The World Scout Jamboree is a Scouting jamboree of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, typically attended by several tens of thousands of Scouts from around the world, aged 14 to 17. The word "jamboree" is used primarily by the Scouting program following the first Boy Scout jamboree in 1920. Baden-Powell deliberately chose the name "jamboree" where attendees were warmly welcomed attending this first Boy Scout rally or meeting with the word "jambo."
The 25th World Scout Jamboree was the 25th edition of the World Scout Jamboree, the biggest event on scout movement, that happens every four years in a different country, [1] held from 1–12 August 2023 at Saemangeum, North Jeolla, South Korea. At each World Scout Jamboree, a solidarity project is undertaken to support the attendance of Scouts from around the world who might not be able to attend the Jamboree for financial reasons. This Jamborees project was called Operation Kirara. Operation Kirara was the largest solidarity operation ever undertaken for any World Scout Jamboree.
