The Ducati 916 is a fully faired sport bike made by Ducati from 1994 to 1998. The Ducati ST4 was manufactured between 1999 and 2005, and used a retuned version of the Ducati 916 engine. The Ducati ST4s was based on the ST4, but had improved suspension and a larger engine, using the liquid-cooled Desmoquattro (four desmodromic valves ) 90° V-twin engine based on the Ducati 996 .
In 1991, Ducati increased the capacity of the 851 to 888 cc, creating the Ducati 888. In 1994, the company introduced the Ducati 916 model designed by Massimo Tamburini, with striking new bodywork that had aggressive lines, under-seat exhausts, and a single-sided swingarm. [5]

He gained notoriety when he was given the responsibility to design the next generation of Ducati's Superbike line, the 1098, after Pierre Terblanche's 999 failed to gain the popularity and success of the iconic 916 designed by Massimo Tamburini.
