The compression ratio depends on the file. I think on average you save about 30% for PS2 ISO files, but it could be more or less. CSO compression ratios are similar to gzip. Whether it's worth it or not is up to you. If it saves 1-2G per ISO then it can save 100-200G for 100 ISOs.
MDS/MDF is 100% copy (including copy protection data and so on),ISO can't save such thing but there is no such thing in PS2 games anyway. Quote: ISO - is a generic reliable image file format. It is pretty much useless when copy protection comes into the picture. MDF/MDS - Alcohol Softs own image format.
Speedhack level 6 will turn VU cycle stealing up to level 2, which from my experience only causes more harm than good. It seems to sometimes make games run like this, where audio and the emulator's reported framerate are full speed, but under the hood processing is much slower.
11-10-2013, 06:27 PM. Some games have files that are hidden in a ways that you can't see it using normal tools. The only program I know that can extract such data is IsoBuster and that program is not free. i7 4771 3.5Ghz,GTX750TI,16GB RAM. Cheats decrypter/converter/editor and more. When I select a game (in this case "Resident Evil - Dead Aim.iso", the emulator doesn't start the game. I don't get any errors or anything, nothing happens. Running it as administrator doesn't make a difference either, and I've tried several games with no luck.
Just about every game will have some sort of distortion and/or corruption during FMVs, due to multiple DMA and PS1 GPU problems. PSX memory cards will appear in the PS2 BIOS as Pocketstation devices. This is due to a hack that was required for some Pocketstation compatible games to detect memory cards, and is strictly a visual side-effect with ...
Anyways, I was able to create isos using PS2 discs and Imgburn and have them running/working on PCSX2. I'm not sure what happened, but now when I try to load a game using (CDVD > Iso Selector> Browse) and then Boot CDVD (fast) I'm taken to the PS2 menu where you have the option to select Browser of System Configuration.
Make sure your music files are in .wav format and convert it to .ss2 compressed ADPCM format. Then, put them in the same folder as your extracted bgm folder and replace them with the same naming convention. Then, use Apache3.0 to create a new iso image. Note that if you use cheats, the CRC will change.
Not even sure if this game saves such data through;p. The only other thing that comes to my mind which wouldn't be intentional doing of user is a cdvd corruption, althrough the log doesn't show cdvd errors, just to be sure if you dumped your iso using any other program, I would recommend re-doing it with Imgburn .
