He is considered by many to be one of the greatest college football coaches of all time, and best known as the head coach of the University of Alabama football team, the Alabama Crimson Tide, from 1958 to 1982.

After the retirement of Central High School East, the Tuscaloosa City School system divided the city into three schools: Northridge High School, Paul W.
