Lewistown High School, or LHS, is a public four-year high school located at 15205 North IL Route 100 in Lewistown, Illinois, a small city in Fulton County, in the Midwestern United States. LHS is part of Lewistown Community Unit School District 97, which serves the communities of Bryant , Lewistown, Little America , and St. David .
Mifflin-Juniata Career and Technology Center is a comprehensive vocational education facility, serving around 500 high school students from public and private schools in Mifflin and Juniata counties in Pennsylvania. The school is located just outside Lewistown, the county seat of Mifflin County.
The school was established in 2011, by the merging of the district's two former high schools (Indian Valley High School and Lewistown Area). This move was due to budget cuts and aging facilities in the other schools. [2] Construction of Mifflin County High School cost $64 million [3] in 2011.
The high schools saw the first change. 10th through 12th graders at Indian Valley High and Lewistown Area High were placed at the new Mifflin County High School for the 2011-12 school year. Five schools were closed and the former Indian Valley and Lewistown Middle Schools were retrofitted to serve students in grades 4-5.
Lewistown's athletic teams were called the Panthers and their colors were blue and white. The school's original colors were maroon and silver, but were changed after the break-up of Penn Highlands High School, as the new incarnation of Lewistown High inherited the blue and white sports and band uniforms of the defunct Penn Highlands school.
Lewistown is a city and the county seat of Fulton County, Illinois, United States. It was named by its founder, Ossian M. Ross , after his oldest son, Lewis Winans Ross . The population was 2,041 at the 2020 census .

It is also home to the only local Catholic Elementary school, Sacred Heart of Jesus , which educates children of any religion in grades K–5. Lewistown is home to the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy, which is the only such facility in the state.
