Heart Like a Wheel is a 1983 American biographical drama sports film directed by Jonathan Kaplan [2] and based on the life of drag racing driver Shirley Muldowney.It stars Bonnie Bedelia as Shirley Muldowney and Beau Bridges as drag racing driver Connie Kalitta.

"Heart Like a Wheel" is a song by English synth-pop band The Human League. It was the first single to be taken from the Romantic? album (1990), and was written by former band member Jo Callis with Eugene Reynolds (of the Rezillos) and features vocals by Philip Oakey, Joanne Catherall and Susan Ann Sulley; with synthesizer by Neil Sutton.
The song was covered by Linda Ronstadt on her 1974 Heart Like a Wheel album. This version was used in James Cameron's 1989 movie, The Abyss. The Byrds recorded the song during the sessions for their 1970 album and performed the song live throughout that same year.
