The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is the largest livestock exhibition and rodeo in the world. It includes one of the richest regular-season professional rodeo events. It has been held at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, since 2003, with the exception of 2021 due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was previously held in the Astrodome. [2]

The George R. Brown Convention Center (GRB), opened on September 26, 1987, [2] is located on the east side of Downtown Houston, Texas, United States.. The center was named for internationally recognized entrepreneur, engineer, civic leader, philanthropist and Houstonian George R. Brown (1898–1983).
In 2021, the conference was held virtually for the same reason. Since 2022, the conference has been held as a hybrid meeting (both in person and virtual). The most recent conference was held March 11–15, 2024, in The Woodlands, Texas, 31 miles north of Houston, Texas, and the next conference is scheduled for March 10–14, 2025.

The 2024 Houston Cougars football team represented the University of Houston in the Big 12 Conference during the 2024 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Cougars were led by Willie Fritz in his first season as their head coach. The Cougars played their home games at TDECU Stadium in Houston, Texas.
