ACCESS service is open to the general public but primarily serves people with disabilities, clients of human service agencies and people aged 65 and over. The ACCESS program is sponsored by Pittsburgh Regional Transit.
ACCESS is a door-to-door, advance reservation, shared–ride transportation program provided throughout Allegheny County and to destinations in adjoining counties within 1.5 miles of the Allegheny County.
All ACCESS fares are predetermined based on trip distance. When you place your trip reservation, the call taker will tell you how much your trip will cost each way. Fare guidelines can be found in the Minimum Fares and Escort Policy section of the Program Options Chart.
Pittsburgh Regional Transit is 100% accessible to people with disabilities. All the buses and light rail vehicles are wheelchair accessible with automated route and stop calling by electronic annunciations or on demand by the vehicle operator.
To sign up for ACCESS service, call 412-562-5353 or TTY 711. A customer service representative will determine the programs you are eligible for and assist you with the requirements for enrolling. How do I arrange a ride? Once enrolled, all reservations must be made at least one day in advance through your local area provider.
