In 2012 the operations of British Airways World Cargo and Iberia Cargo had joint turnover of €1,217 million. They have a combined workforce of more than 2,400 people covering a global network of over 350 destinations. [citation needed] IAG Cargo's hub in London was built in 1999 for the entry, transit and exit of international cargo shipments.
Aer Lingus Cargo is the airline's cargo division. It uses reserved areas of passenger aircraft cargo-holds. Aer Lingus Cargo is available on all routes to the US from Dublin and Shannon. IAG announced the launch of Iberia Express on 6 October 2011, leading to strike action by pilots in late December 2011 due to concerns over potential job losses caused by the new airline.
