Dipper first arrives in Gravity Falls bored and upset, [9] but after he accidentally comes across a mysterious red journal in the forest around Gravity Falls, he begins to adjust to life in town and starts going on adventures with his sister to unravel the supernatural secrets of the town as told by the entries in the journal.
Shandra Jimenez (voiced by Kari Wahlgren) is the local news reporter in Gravity Falls, who Toby Determined secretly has a crush on. It appears she takes her job seriously, as she refers to herself as "a real reporter" in "Headhunters". She is the last of the citizens of Gravity Falls to be petrified by Bill's minions but later returns to normal.
Meanwhile, when Dipper meets two government agents, he tries to tell them about the mysteries of Gravity Falls by showing them his journal. When the agents don't believe anything written in the journal, Dipper ends up conjuring up zombies as proof, causing more trouble.
