"Call on Me" is a song co-written and produced by Swedish DJ and producer Eric Prydz. The song is based on a sample of Steve Winwood 's 1982 song " Valerie " from the album Talking Back to the Night .
He rose to prominence with his 2004 hit single "Call on Me", and saw continued chart success with "Proper Education" in 2007, "Pjanoo" in 2008, and "Opus" in 2015. In 2016, he released his debut studio album, Opus. In 2017, he won DJ of the Year at the Electronic Music Awards and was also nominated for Live Act of the Year.

DJ Falcon stated in an interview that he and Bangalter had sampled "Valerie" years previously and used it in DJ sets, with no intention to release it as a single despite demand from various outlets.
