The Senegal national basketball team (French: Équipe de basketball du Senegal) represents Senegal in men's international basketball and it is overseen by Federation Senegalaise de basketball, five time a gold medallist (in 1968, 1972, 1978, 1980, and 1997), a six time silver medallist, and a four time bronze medallist at the FIBA Africa Championship.

Khalifa Ababacar Diop (born 15 January 2002) is a Senegalese professional basketball player for Baskonia of the Spanish Liga ACB and the EuroLeague. He also plays for the Senegalese national team. Diop was drafted 39th overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2022 NBA draft.
Since 2022, the academy has a program called BAL Elevate with the Basketball Africa League (BAL), that allows each BAL team to select an academy player to feature on its roster during the season. [4] A year earlier, in 2021, Mohab Yasser became the first academy player to play in the BAL and also the first player to win the league championship.

[4] In November 2021, Diallo signed with DUC Dakar of the Nationale 1 and for the 2022 BAL season. [5]
